Freak
When we arrive at Willowâs dorm, thereâs about thirty girls sitting in the lounge area of her lobby having a meeting and she freezes in her tracks.
âCrap, I forgot about the dorm meeting. It probably wouldnât be a good idea to walk you through there.â
âI agree. We can go to my room if you want,â I offer, pretty much pushing my luck. âI can kick my roommate out if heâs even there. His girl has her own apartment, so heâs usually with her.â
âI thought you couldnât really study at your dorm?â
Damn, I did say that.
âItâs not as bad during winter break. People come and go for the weekends and stuff.â
âOh, okay. Well, sure, we can do that.â
Our hands dangle dangerously close to each other as we walk the panther bridge to my dorm. Luckily there arenât that many people in the lobby so when we arrive, I say a quick whatâs up to a few people, grab a visitorâs pass for Willow and we head up.
âHave you ever been here?â I ask, totally making random small talk because I feel something that I never usually feel⦠nervous.
âNope.â
We spend a good thirty minutes actually getting some work done, but the tension between us is so thick that I donât know what Iâve written in the last ten. I can smell Willow all around me. I want her so badly that I can taste it, but I donât want to ruin the perfect evening.
âOkay, this is a good start, but why donât we stop here? Your homework is to summarize the meaning of the last four passages of the chapter you read into two cohesive paragraphs. Just write what you feel at first and then weâll clean it up later.â
âCool, I can do that.â
She checks the time on her phone, but I want her to stay longer, so I try pushing my luck again.
âYou want to watch a movie? Thereâs this cool new zombie thing on HBO.â
âZombies?â
âOr we can watch a Christmas flick since itâs tisâ the season and all of that.â
âHonestly, Freak, Iâm still freezing from the rink. I just want to get in bed and thaw off.â
I stand up directly in front of her, towering over her small frame.
âI like having you here,â I say, gently grabbing one of her hands.
At first her head is down, but then she raises it to meet my gaze.
âIs that so?â
Is she flirting back with me?
âIf you stay, Iâll warm you up.â
She cocks her head to the side. âI thought this was pretend?â
I walk forward slowly until Iâve backed her into the wall and quickly lift her ass up in the air, plopping her gently down on my bed.
âThis has never been fake for me.â
âHasnât it?â
âYou think I wanted to leave you at that party?â
I slide my hands under her red sweater and around her back, quickly unlatching her bra, and then cupping her breasts.
âI was waiting for you to come after me and say to hell with our damn arrangement.â
âJacksonââ she moans softly.
âBut you didnât.
